Annie Duke

The NBC National Heads Up Championship has come to an end and it was professional poker player Annie Duke who made history by becoming the first woman to win this competition in the history of poker.

Annie Duke played against recognized poker pro Erik Seidel in the final heads-up. She bested Seidel and went home with $500,000 and the title.

The NBC National Heads Up Championship invites only the biggest names in poker to play several rounds of heads-up No Limit Holdem matches until one player emerges victorious from the whole field.

Apart from this title, Annie Duke has an impressive number of accomplishments in her poker resume. She is currently the best female poker player, she holds 1 WSOP bracelet, she has made it to 15 final tables at the WSOP and has cashed 37 times at various events there too.

She currently represents widely known poker room Ultimate Bet and she is a great ambassador of humanitarian work and charity poker tournaments.

Even though the NBC National Heads Up Championship is not considered one of the most skill-based events in the poker world, it is a great chance to see the best poker players in the world come together in exciting matches.
