Cake Poker to Return WSOP Bracelet to TJ Cloutier

Cake Poker to Return WSOP Bracelet to TJ Cloutier

We recently informed you that professional poker player TJ Cloutier’s WSOP bracelet was up for bidding on eBay. Well, it turned out that it was online poker room Cake Poker that bought it for $4,006. The poker room announced that they plan on enjoying their new acquisition for a couple of days before giving it back to its prestigious owner.

If you were one of those in the poker world who were wondering how the bracelet got there in the first place be aware that there has not been an official story released but there are some rumors going around the poker internet forums.

None of the rumors have been verified but I want to give you a quick update on a very interesting hypothesis that has been posted on some forums. Many people are aware that TJ Cloutier likes high stakes. Some poker players sometimes go broke and they have to exploit their resources to make it back.

Cloutier’s field of expertise is tournament poker and he has won an estimated total of $30 million there. However, sometimes gamblers develop side gambling addictions that drain all their money out. I think this is an interesting thought but I just cannot fully agree that a poker player would sell their WSOP bracelet. Maybe TJ did not lose all of his money, or maybe the bracelet was stolen, we just don’t know for sure yet.

TJ Cloutier Sells WSOP Bracelet

TJ Cloutier Sells WSOP Bracelet

If you go to eBay today and look around a bit you will be able to find an auction for professional poker player’s TJ Cloutier WSOP bracelet. TJ Cloutier won this bracelet in 2005 at the $5,000 No Limit Holdem event.

What is actually surprisingly is that the current owner of Cloutiers’ WSOP bracelet is the Plano Pawn Shop in Plano, Texas. The Plano Pawn Shop added on the description of the item that it had been acquired from TJ Cloutier himself, which is quite surprising and makes us all wonder what happened there.  The pawn shop set the initial bid at $2,999. So far, no bids have been placed by customers and the auction will close on Sunday.

The same company has also put another one of TJ Cloutiers’ bracelets on eBay. This time it is a bracelet won by Cloutier at the Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge IV which was played at the Cherokee Casino in Oklahoma. For this one the initial bid is $2,499, which is almost as much as what they want for the WSOP bracelet.

TJ Cloutier is a professional poker player from Texas who has amassed over $9.8 million in lifetime earnings.
