Due to the recent devastating earthquake that struck Chile, the PokerStars staff has announced that the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Viña del Mar has been cancelled. The earthquake struck 175 miles south of Viña del Mar and almost 300 people died.

The largest online poker room in the world, PokerStars , recognizes that all of the country’s resources are focused in the rescue efforts and that the LAPT is the last thing to be concerned about right now.

The EPT Viña del Mar was scheduled in two weeks time in Viña del Mar, Chile from March 19th to 23rd. This is one of the most popular destinations of the tour as it takes place in the beautiful resort ‘Enjoy Viña del Mar’ in the amazing Chilean paradise.

The poker site also said that all the players who bought into the event or won a package to go there will be compensated; all concerns should be emailed to lapt@pokerstars.com.
